NAME of the position. 
Junior Construction Site Foreman. 3 years´ experience.
Reports directly to the Senior Site Foreman.

DUTIES of the position

  • Under the supervision of the Senior Site Foreman, you will be responsible for the contract and the execution of the work from the budget phase to the conclusion thereof and delivery of the keys.
  • Planning, management, supervision, receiving instructions from the Senior Site Foreman, guaranteeing the correct execution of the works in line with the criteria of quality, safety, profitability and efficiency.
  • Analysis, planning and economic control of the works from the contracting phase to delivery and post-sales, including certifications, in addition to the optimisation of the resources of the awarded works.
  • Knowledge of the trades involved in the construction of large-scale commercial premises, from layout to cleaning and delivery to the client.
  • Informing and notifying your superior of the development of the progress of the works from a technical, economic and time-specific point of view.
  • Coordination and optimisation of construction teams and different resources, monitoring compliance with deadlines and established quality criteria.
  • Management of relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, the hiring of subcontractors, pursuant to the instructions provided by your superior, reviewing work carried out by subcontractors to ensure they are working as required and are using materials of the appropriate quality, in accordance with the safety guidelines established.
  • Management of work documentation (subcontractor contracts, access to the site, work parts, machinery parts, delivery notes, etc.).
  • ORP management: Exhaustive knowledge of the risks inherent to al phases of the work and initiatives to minimise them.
  • Ensuring compliance with ORP standards.
  • Together with the Senior Site Foreman, you will represent KTL in the relationship with the Client from the beginning of the work until the final certification, and throughout the warranty period.
  • Internal inspections and audits of the Prevention, Quality and Environmental systems implemented at the site.

REQUIREMENTS to be met by the candidate
  • ESSENTIAL: without these characteristics, the candidate will not be considered for the process.
  • Training: Degree in Construction Engineering / Higher VET Degree in the Organisation and Monitoring of Construction Works. PMP Certification.
  • Experience: At least 1-3 years on-site experience (Junior profile).
  • Sector: Renovation construction of commercial premises (Shops and Hotels).
  • Languages: English (B1). Advanced level, written and spoken.
  • Computer science. User level of generic programs such as: Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer. User level of specific programs such as Autocad 2D, Presto, Microsoft Project and editing and creation of PDF documents and plans.

Other:
1. 1-3 years´ experience in the construction sector as site foreman for the renovation of hotels/commercial premises and other buildings (offices, homes, industrial warehouses, etc.) from the study of the sales budget, negotiation and hiring of subcontractors in accordance with the established margins, planning of the works and quality of execution, cost and sales certifications, including cleaning and delivery to the client by the agreed upon deadline.
2. Experience of working at construction companies in charge of hiring subcontractors and suppliers of the works from the start to finish.
3. Knowledge of team leadership, managing the execution of the works in relation to deadlines, cost, quality and safety, after having received instructions from the Senior Site Foreman or the Site Manager.
4. Expertise in Health and Safety (very important): Exhaustive knowledge of the risks inherent to every phase of the works and the initiative required to minimise them.
5. Availability to travel and work throughout the country (projects lasting between 1 month and 9 months).

  • Knowledge of planning and organisation techniques in construction processes will be assessed.
  • Knowledge of specific techniques of measurement techniques, budgeting and cost sizing in construction processes will be assessed.
  • Technical Construction Code Course will be assessed.
  • Official Master's Degree in Comprehensive Safety and Management will be assessed.
  • Knowledge of specific occupational prevention, health and safety techniques in the construction sector will be assessed.
  • Quality and Environmental qualifications will be assessed.
  • Knowledge of the implementation and application of on-site quality and environmental systems will be assessed.
  • User level of specific programs such as Autocad 3D, Revit, TCQ 2000 – BIM, DALUX will be assessed.
  • Knowledge of other languages such as Portuguese, French, etc., will be assessed.
